In this video, I’m showing the process of renovating my kitchen table, which I originally built 10 years ago at the very beginning of my YouTube journey. This table has sentimental value to me, so I knew it had to be preserved and made to serve my home for many more years. That’s why I decided to make it a bit more convenient and practical.
When I first built it, I used the wrong type of epoxy resin, which caused the heavy tabletop to bend and form a 10 mm dip in the center. For many years, a tempered glass cover hid this defect. However, now the surface needed to be leveled again.
I also decided to round off the edges of the table and redesign the legs to create more legroom. The entire transformation process is shown in the video.
The table turned out much better than its previous version — stronger and more stable, which is especially important for a heavy tabletop. The center of the table creates an effect of frozen water with vegetation visible through it, while the rim made of old, decayed oak makes a beautiful contrast.
This project was created during constant Russian drone and missile attacks, air raid sirens, and all the horrors that Ukrainians have been living through for almost four years of Russian aggression. It is a brutal war that Russia has unleashed against Ukraine.
