In this video I demonstrate the process of making a TV-stand for my bedroom with storage space for bedding.
The frame is completely made of ash, I also managed to use a lot of leftover recycled ash boards that I found at home, it can be easily recognized as the recycled wood is darker.
This time I also decided to experiment and make a sliding door that moves along a curve and thus leaves room for a central decorative element. I have never tested this sliding door system, so until the end I was not sure that everything would work, but as you can see from the video, everything worked out and the system withstood the test of my small children.
I decided to repeat the design of the doors as in the cabinet that I made a little earlier, since these pieces of furniture will stand together.
During the filming, my children found a praying mantis, which is a rather rare insect in our region. This is the first time I saw it live. Ecology is changing and this is the result.
In this project I also decided to use an old oak log as a decorative element. I still have several such old oak logs that I have kept for 15 years. For me they have some value. They used to be the load-bearing beam of the clay house where my great-grandfather and his family were forcibly relocated from Poland to Ukraine by the Soviet Union in 1947 (Operation Vistula).
Time passed and descendants demolished the old and built a new house. This is an old and fragile material eaten by hornets, but I will try to preserve it as a reminder of the old house that sheltered my ancestors 75 years ago.
The Soviet Union caused a lot of grief to Ukrainians, violence and terror became the main methods of establishing Soviet power in Ukraine during the entire period of its existence. Today, as we all see the ambitions of the Russian Federation as the successor of the Soviet Union have not changed, under all the fictitious pretexts remains the one to destroy everything Ukrainian.
Today, as a hundred years ago, we have the same enemy who, with weapons in his hands, vilely invaded and occupied territory of Ukraine. Their goal is to revive the Soviet Union at any cost, and russion ambitions will not end only in Ukraine, we all hear their public statements and threats to other countries.
Despite all the insidious plans and expectations of Russia - the world's second army, Ukraine did not give up and has been repelling the Russian aggressor for 6 months. The courage and resilience of the Ukrainians were clearly underestimated by the enemy.
Today, the front line in Ukraine is 2,500 km, 1,300 km of which are active combat operations. This is the largest armed conflict since World War 2, and no one believed that such a thing could happen in the 21st century, until the last we did not believe either, but we now have an opportunity to end our historical struggle.
Thank you to everyone who all this time supports and stands with Ukraine, to everyone who remains on the right side of history.
The enemy is big and strong, and has been preparing for this war for a long time, only together we can win.
We thank all our allies and partners in this war.
We believe in armed forces of Ukraine!
We believe in victory!
Glory to Ukraine!
