The main feature of the traditional wedding clothing of this region is the hairstyle and the headdress of the bride. Her hair was immaculately braided, in a very fine and delicate fashion. The hair usually took up to 8 hours to complete. A bride slept with the braid, and then put on a wreath that has its own unique attributes.
Its base was woven out of faux flowers crafted from thin wood shavings, and completed with beads and miniature mirrors, and a tiny periwinkle wreath put yet on top. The groove also wore a periwinkle wreath.
The bride often prepared a wedding gift for her loved one – she embroidered braces – rakvytsi, small pieces of canvas tied at the wrist.

Ethnographers, historians, folk costume collectors, artisans, folklorists are featured prominently in this project, allowing you to deepen your knowledge of the Ukrainian folk traditions and their regional variations, all while admiring the stunning handicraft.
