In the Kharkiv region, the headdress of a bride differs from most of the others in Ukraine. In this region, a lush wreath is not worn by the bride, but rather by the maid of honor. The bride has an assortment of other festive accessories instead: a silk shawl, two flowers made from ribbons on the sides, and optionally, a necklace.
Back to Basics. Wedding project will open for you the whole world of traditional Ukrainian weddings – beautiful, rich, vivid, and very diverse, just like Ukrainian culture as a whole.
Ethnographers, historians, folk costume collectors, artisans, folklorists are featured prominently in this project, allowing you to deepen your knowledge of the Ukrainian folk traditions and their regional variations, all while admiring the stunning handicraft.
