More than 1 200 000 people have gone in search of safe place from their cities that were attacked by Russian missiles and aircraft in the 9 days of Russia's military invasion of Ukraine.
At least six regions turned into one solid traffic jam. People spent up to three days on the road from Kyiv to the Vyšné Nemecké Border Crossing Point (about 800 km), near Uzhgorod, where this material was filmed. And then, they were standing in line up two more days at customs.
The locals residents organized themselves to help the refugees and set up improvised transit points where these people could rest, eat, get warm by the bonfires and get medical treatment. However, the most valuable thing in such places was the emotional warmth that the volunteers gave to the confused and tired people.
