On 23.02.2022 the train steward Alla Kolesnychenko went for a regular train trip Mykolaiv – Kyiv. However, the very next day the full-scale russian invasion has started.

From then on Alla is on duty. During 40+ days of war she conducted 28 evacuation trips from Kyiv, Kharkiv and Kramatosk to safer cities in Western Ukraine.

Alla doesn’t see her actions as heroic. She just does her job with special care and attention. As well as many other workers of Ukrzaliznytsia (Ukrainian railroad service) who are day and night do their best to provide safe evacuation of civilians from the most dangerous regions of Ukraine.
