The song “Welcome To America” is about finding home in an unfamiliar place. An entire band uprooted their lives to turn a fabled dream into reality. Never losing hope, driving further into the unknown every hour of every day. The cultural differences between the Ukraine and the United States of America can be distressing, but the band Flit is adventurous.
It is that that adventurous mindset which drives them to chase new opportunities. Each member of the band moved to a new country and settled in different states, but they still manage to collaborate on musical projects. Projects that now span two cultures, two continents, two languages.
The chase of the American dream fuels this band, and inspired them to produce this song. A song memorializing the love they have for their new home. A song that they hope will inspire you to explore the world. We sincerely hope you all enjoy our new song, “Welcome To America”. Released on July 4’th 2021.
WELCOME TO AMERICA
Verse 1:
A long time ago a ship sailed to her shore.
With a captain and crew starved and frost bitten too.
They held their heads high knowing their story’d be told,
then they went off in search of rare treasures and gold.
This strange foreign land proved to meet their demands,
but great wars must be waged before it’s at their command.
Each passing day brought more pain than the last till
the plains had been littered with graves sprawling vast.
Chorus:
Sun rising in the East reminds them of home.
Night falls in the West over land still unknown.
The mustang will speed while the buffalo roam.
So much love for this land that we proudly call home.
Please receive me America, your freedoms are broad.
You’re welcome in America, a land blessed by God.
Verse 2:
You can travel country miles searching for days,
but you would never discover America.
An eagle ascends mountainous terrain as
a white tailed deer hides safely in the forest.
There are many paths to take,
but sincerity is your only true option.
So strike while the iron is hot,
or enjoy your humble pie.
